My predictions:
* At least 5 negative events (deaths, crimes) will be blamed on videogames.
* Another $300 billion or more spent on Iraq War; anyone bringing up the Bush Administration's prediction that the war would pay for itself will be labeled pro-terrorist.
* Musharraf wins election in Pakistan; protests and riots ensue.
* Our worst hurricane season since the last hurricane season.
* No one goes to Mars.

Yeah, I'm an optimist.

I'll take a shot from all over the map:

- the election will be closer than 2004's. The losing side will not take it well.
- Movie ticket sales will decrease, but with higher prices, the industry will make more money.
- Fewer terrorist strikes than at least the last three years.
- Reduction of troops in Iraq.
- Two deaths by B list celebrities that are too young (ie, not death of old age).
- The UN will get nothing accomplished.
- Congress will get nothing accomplished.
- Mild weather. Global warming doubters will use this to discredit Global Warming theorists.
- Wii sales will start to slow vis a vis the 360 and PS3.
- HD format war gets fiercer, no winner in 2008, though HD DVD will keep pace or beat Blu-Ray this year.
- Major layoffs at an American auto manufacturer.

I think that's all for me. Oh yeah, one more:

- I will get less than half of these right, and I will point to the fact that I predicted it as proof of my clairvoyance. If I get more than half right, then the only major one I will get wrong is my prediction that I will get less than half right, and that will prove my clairvoyance.
