Rebooted during a frozen Zone Alarm upgrade, now I can't upgrade or reinstall it

Hey. So I have Zone Alarm Security Suite (legit) installed on my parent's computer, and I tried to upgrade it as usual, since every so often it directs you to the Zone Labs site to download the upgrade as an .exe.

But, as I was upgrading, the progress stopped. I guess my dad and I really should have been patient, but I ended up pressing the reset button on the computer, after trying to cancel the installation.

Now I can't upgrade. It freezes at 3% then crashes.

So I tried uninstalling Zone Alarm. Except it didn't show up in the Program Files nor the Add or Remove programs roster.

So I manually deleted all the Zone Lab folders and deleted them from my registry.

Funny enough, now I still can't do a clean install from the .exe that I downloaded from the Zone Labs site (it lets you upgrade or clean install), nor can I install from the Zone Alarm Security Suite CD.
EDIT: I even installed Windows Installer Cleanup that I got from Microsoft's site. It gives you a list of things that you can uninstall... in case Add/Remove Programs doesn't work, I think. But nothing pertaining to Zone Alarm is on the list.

I ran check disk several times, and also defragged the hard drive. Still, I can't install Zone Alarm.
I even booted from the Windows XP CD and did a repair install, and then ran check disk and defragged.

I tried installing Starcraft to see if it was something wrong with Installshield, but Starcraft installed successfully.

The comp also reboots when I scan it with AdAware... when starts scanning a certain part, the comp reboots.
The comp also reboots when I do a search for "zone" after some Zone Labs folders (still in my recycle bin) and a Zone Labs folder in system32 pop up.

So how can I get Zone Alarm up and running on the computer again? D:

... Hm, I guess I could just format everything and start over... unless anyone has an alternative suggestion...

Its a longshot but you can go to the zone alarm site and see if you can get a list of what registry entries were made and try to manually modify and or delete them. If you go this route I suggest backing everything up. I figure if you are willing to format your computer then modifying the registry is also in the risk equation.

Ah, thanks... I ended up browsing their site... I didn't find any registry stuff (actually I forgot to look for it) but long story short I'm currently formatting the partition with XP on it and reinstalling XP.
