TERROR! HORROR! ANARCHY! Yes, it's another recommendation thread(PS3)

So I have finally decided to bite the bullet and switch to the next - gen. As my roommates already own both a 360 elite as well as a wii, PS3 was the natural choice.

However, there are a few questions bouncing around the 'ol noggin about said PS3:

- How scarce are the 60gb versions of the console now? I'm a Canuck btw.

- I understand that the PS3 software allows for a PS2 memory card utility of sorts. Is it possible to transfer save files from my hard drive onto that of a friends (i.e. on a network - not with media).

- How difficult is it to copy these PS2 memory files onto a memory stick?

- How long do you guys find a fully - charged PS3 controller to last before a re-charge is needed?

- Do any of the 3(?) different iterations of the console come with component cables included (best my tele can do).

- And finally, recommend me some games!! I am interested in CoD4, but I am open to any helpful suggestions ( I likely will only be able to afford one game). Also, probably helpful to note I enjoy all genres save racing/driving sims. Unless it's Mario Kart, it can get the fuck out:P

Thanks in advance, PA.

I just picked me up a ps3, 60 gig, so I can answer a few questions.

Down in NY, it seems 60 gigs are pretty rare. Those that have em will not be trading them in. I had a problem with the one I got from gamestop, so they had to give me cash and I looked around for it. Got lucky at another gamestop by chance and picked it up, no problems since.

The PS3 controller is rated for about 30 hours of playtime, and I'd say I get about 20 with all the interference in my room, which isn't bad. I doubt the Dualshock 3 will get anywhere near that though.

Buying it used from gamestop didn't get my component cables. Cables are around 20 dollars USD last I checked, so you'll probably pay something like 30ish canadian funbucks.

If you have online capabilities, WARHAWK. You can pick up the game + a bluetooth headset for 60 bucks USD, or just the game for 40 USD. It's a multiplayer only game, so if you're looking to play a local game, best you can do is 2v2. Online it's 16v16.

If getting online is a problem, get Uncharted. From what I hear from the rest of the guys here, this game is THE game to get right now. Check out some gameplay videos and see if it's for you. I'm definately getting it as soon as I get paid this week.
