I've been having a spot of problem with my 360, and the xbox.com site and forums don't have an answer for me.
Occasionally, on periods of prolonged use, the audio and video of the display gradually slips out of synch. This happens on regular 2-hour long DVDs, where by the end of the video, the lag is visibly clear. Character mouths will move and a moment later the words will come out.
It also happens on games as well. Specifically Rock Band. I had an episode not too long ago, where all the lag was calibrated correctly, yet slowly and inexorably the game became out of synch, and notes were missed. Recalibrated, it worked again for a time, and then again the inevitable march of the lag reasserted itself.
The problem can be stopped by rebooting the console, but I'd like to know if there's a more permanent way to fix this, as rebooting a console as you're coming to a climax in a movie is irritating.
Also note, this seems to be an intermittent problem. It'll work flawlessly during one session, and intolerable the next. For what it's worth, I'm running an Elite, going into a Sharp LCD TV through HDMI.
