Basically I'm looking for browser based multiplayer games or more what you'd consider "board game" fare. Here's some I've enjoyed so far (there's not a whole bunch):
-Acrony: It's an Acrophobia clone, not the best (I wish I could still play the original) but it's much better than others I've experienced. Stuff like this is a good start, word-based games that multiple people can participate in.
-Yahoo! Literati: Scrabble clone, easy enough to get into (just requires a Yahoo account and Java). Another word game, so take note.
-Yahoo! Graffiti: iSketch is the same thing more or less, I prefer Graffiti because of how the artist gets to choose the clues. But either one is good fun.
-GTKAtlantic: This is a Windows port of a Monopoly clone for Linux. It'd be great except the port is pretty shoddy so that means gameplay is erratic and sometimes the thing just crashes on a whim. Not too much fun because of these flaws, but much better than "HOTUpoly" because it doesn't have an eyesore theme.
There's a few things like these on BYOND, but I can't weed out the good ones and it's sometimes hard to play with a slower connection since that rules out the ability to host (many games don't have immediate servers running) and playing in general usually suffers since the engine is already inherently laggy. I know it's kind of ridiculous to ask for good games to play on a shitty connection and it's not necessarily a stipulation I expect you to adhere to since my problems with latency are intermittent. Just some relaxed, non-"twitch" gaming that's great with friends would go great in this topic.
