I have a two year old dachshund named Harvey who, for what ever reason, keeps squealing and kind of chasing his tail around. I would lay him down, he's squeal some more, I'd pick him up and the same thing happens again. I've checked his paws, nothing in them, I've touched his legs and he, when he isn't squealing, he isn't reacting to the touches, just looks at me. We have a few minutes of silence and then he starts to cry again. This is tough because I have another little dog who likes to fight when ever Harvey starts crying because she thinks he's playing.

Does anyone have any tips or clues as to what the hell is going on? I can't figure it out and I'm scared something might really be wrong with him and I just can't see it.

To ask the dumb but obvious question; have you spoken to a vet? If not taken him in, at least perhaps called one for advice?

I don't have any dogs, but that'd be my first thought.

I haven't spoken to a vet nor taken him to one. Unfortunately at this time we don't have a vet for our dogs and I do not drive so I am unable to take him anywhere. I'd have to wait till my dad got him to take him to at least Pet's Mart.

Its weird because he can walk just fine, but then all of a sudden he starts to squeal. He also has an attitude problem at the moment, he kept trying to get under my bed (where he first started squealing) and I told him no and told him to stay on my bed, he hoped off my bed and opened the door and walked out.

Checked his tail, touched it, no reaction. I'm going to give him a bath in case its something ON him, but for now, he's shivering and his heart beat is going really fast. I can't tell if its because he's cold, or because he's scared.

I would say Vet now. Sounds like a possible internal injury. Check his stomach and sides for any spots he finds tender. Be gentle. He may have also ate something that is now stuck and won't come out.

since its a dachshund be very careful in case of possible back injuries. Don't let him jump on things, and make sure to keep his back straight when picking him up or setting him down until a vet checks him out.(which should be asap)

Well, I just gave him a bath, he seemed to like that. If he still squeals afterwards then I will tell my parents to take him to the vet tonight or early morning tomorrow. He can poo and pee just fine, but yeah as you guys have said I will take him to the vet if the squealing persists.

Also, I've rubbed his tummy and chest for him, in face he rolled over just so I could do so and he didn't have a reaction then. He just liked it a whole lot (which is normal for him)

I'd take him to the vet regardless of whether it happens again; if he's hiding and sometimes complaining about being in pain, I'd be concerned about injury, and with that kind of dog I'd definitely be wary about spinal injury. Good that it's not constant, and that he's feeling a little better, but I'd still have him seen.

My dachshund also tends to be very cold, so he tries to burrow under things, which could explain why he's going under the bed. Is there any region on his body he won't let you touch?

Take him to the vet anyways. God forbid something should happen to him, you never want that thought in the back of your head that you could've done something and you never did.
