    I think it's a lot sadder that this is only the second time in a row.

    It implies that there was a time when America beat Canada at hockey, which is sad if they can't win at their own sport. Americans generally don't take hockey as seriously, so us winning is more of a shocker.

    A friend of mine who plays club hockey took a hit the other night that was hard enough to break his face shield and cut his fucking lips off.

    To be fair, driving is even more dangerous, but I don't really consider it a sport.

    Still, the "real sport" jokes are more about national pride and Canada jokes than anything.
