What now for the 360?

Well after the holiday season is over and everyone is done playing the major titles, what is there to do?

CoD4 had a decent story mode, though a bit short, as well as decent online play. After playing HQ on shipment so many times it gets kind of old, especially after getting hit with random nades 60 times a round.

Mass Effect reminded me how good Bioware is at making games. Though the side quests just drew the game out longer, the main story was delightful and has me waiting for the next installment, lets hope Obsidian doesn't get their hands on it.

Assassin's Creed was not everyone's cup of tea, but once you got past all of the tedious bs, the story was actually quite decent. Though it had its glitches and the ending was about as bad as you can get.

The Orange Box with its five games was probably one of if not the best release of the year. Though you can only beat portal so many times before you remember you just beat it 3 hours before.

Now is the time i hate, the time between the big releases. It wont be a couple months before anything substantial comes out. Until then i guess we'll have to hold ourselves over with older games. I should probably get to the point of this thread so it doesn't just get locked down.

Anyways what are some good games for the 360 that you still play and hold near and dear to your heart. Especially games for live that still has a decent amount of people on.

I'm still playing Call of Duty 4 pretty regularly, with some Forza 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and AC6 mixed in. Haven't gotten bored yet.

Well, Lost Odyssey, Devil May Cry 4, and Culdcept Saga are all coming out at the beginning of February. Throw in a strong XBLA lineup (Omega Five next week, Rez HD in Jan or Feb) and I think it's a little early to be worried about an XBox 360 drought, especially since most people haven't caught up on all the 2007 Holiday releases.

You know, I'm playing through Assassin's Creed right now, and I could really care less about the story. Oh sure, I'm kinda interested in what's happening, but for me, the game's about everything else. I enjoy jumping around the city rescuing citizens. I pretend I'm midevil Batman. When I get bored with that, I run around on roof tops doing jump-kills on any guards I come across. When I get bored with that, I stand on a giant pile of bodies in the street triggering my stealth blade repeatedly as more and more guards show up, killing each on unawares, adding to the pile. I'm psychotic Batman.

Honestly, Assassin's Creed is one of my top 5 games this year.

I'm going through a second, achievement-hunting hard-difficulty playthrough of Bioshock -- even with all its supposed flaws (blah blah System Shock 2 rehash whine whine Deus Ex has superior gameplay nerd nerd) it's one of those games where just being there feels compelling; it's close to the point where each room in the game is memorable just from an atmospheric standpoint. I'm also getting more into Live multiplayer stuff that I couldn't before; between TF2 and Forza 2 (which I'm picking up again after a lull thanks to Road America and a bunch of awesome DLC cars) I think I'll be set for a while.

Having played the other Top Spins I can vouch that they're great games.

Also, man...the 360 list it looking really great at the moment...a lot of game I already knew about(but had forgotten) and some that I didn't know about. Might have to look at that Left 4 Dead game, looks pretty interesting.

I don't get why people do this. People still called games like DMC3 PS2 exclusive. In fact, most console "exclusives" have been ported to the PC for years now. Why doesn't the 360 get any slack when it comes to having exclusives that are also on the PC.

Top Spin 3 looks good. Hopefully a better player roster will appear. More real players, and ones that haven't completely fallen off Earth (Coria from Top Spin 2; dude's just disappeared on the tour)

Sega Rally Revo is out there, if anyone cares. Quite fun if you grew up with it in the arcades and on Saturn/DC.

Virtua Tennis 3 is good, finding a good player online who doesn't lag the game in his favor is tough. It could be because everyone who plays it is in Europe.

LOL get over yourself. We dont all have scads of cash to have purchased every good title, let alone the TIME to sit down and play through them all. Maybe you play video games 24-7 but somehow I doubt anywhere near a lot of people are "done" playing the major titles.

Alan Wake - hell yeah. Didn't know it's a 360 exclusive now, but meh. As a former hardcore PC-fanboi its-the-only-platform-worth-gaming-on, I'm leaning more and more towards the consoles. Welcome onboard, I guess. But I digress. AWake looks fantastically awesome. Also Alone in the Dark and Brütal Legend should kick some ass.

All in all, it's a bit impressive how strong a lineup of games that are slated for the 360. Guess I need to actually get started on Mass Effect before some of those other games start hitting shelves all around..

It's not. That list is full of errors in regards to exclusives.

Also, I forgot about Condemned 2 and Prototype. Condemned 2 sounds all kinds of awesome - grappling, a more fleshed out forensics system, and the main character going insane. Awesome.

Prototype is Hulk: Ultimate Destruction with Altair from Assassin's Creed in it and tons of violence. Fuck yeah.

Making lists of games you wanna play is some seriously dangerous shit. Especially when you end up buying most of the games, then figure out that, what with a fulltime job and a baby, you're not very likely to get a chance to do a whole lot of gaming anyways.

But dammit, I can't help myself :). Still too many titles coming out that look full of win.

But honestly that's not exclusive than, It's really only exclusive if it's not on PC as well

otherwise than it is still multiplatform even if it's not on the PS3 or Wii.

I'm not saying it makes sense. I'm just saying that's how it's usually put. Bioshock, while on PC, is many times referred to as an "exclusive" because it isn't on PS3 or Wii.
