Don't get too excited, I've found that usually with this type of sale chances are most of these games are gone already, but it's worth swinging by and checking it out.

    Went to check at my CC. They had the $8.96 sale but had nothing but PS2 games. My CC always sucks for these sales though.

    My CC almost never has any of these sale titles but I got lucky yesturday and found:

    Bullet Witch (360... yeah yeah but I've been wanting to try it since before it came out and $9 ain't much more than a rental fee)
    Yakuza (Will we ever see 2 state side? hrm)
    Elite Beat Agents (seems like a cult hit among the various forums. Its fun but I'm awful at it)

    Most of the games I would want, I already have. Most of the ones I'd otherwise buy, are probably already gone.

    Due to the holidays, I've acquired 6 new games that I'm just now sinking my teeth into, which should last me at least a couple of months.


    I don't feel too bad about not taking CC up on this deal.

    i would pick up okami and godhand, but im pretty sure my CC will not have them. thats how these things end up 99% of the time.

    edit: im pretty tempted by snoopy vs the red baron also

    I'm going today and I hope to find Bullet Witch too, I know it didn't get great reviews but I've seen enough pockets of fans of it around forums that it's worth $9 to me. I also want Sylpheed and Mario & Luigi.

    I picked up the GTA double pack so I can play them through again, and man. Time has not been kind to these graphics. Still, running around as the lead singer of Lovefist is too fun to be legal.
    All they had for 360 games was Bullet Witch and NHL, so yeah...not great variety.

    For the people who have never gone to these kinds of clearances before, let me highlight the following terms:
    Don't get too excited
    most of these games are gone already

    Between employees getting first crack at the titles, people with printed lists showing up at 8am the first day, and questionable stock to begin with...these clearances get cleaned out faster than a housemaid on meth vacuuming your living room.

    Just so you know, employees don't really get a first crack at the games. I work at my CC and was barely able to get a copy of Custom Robo, and wasn't able to find Godhand or Valkyrie Profile 2 at all.

    :lol: So very true. I rented it for one night and that one lone achievement stands as a pock mark on my gaming history, forever unerasable.

    Those looking for mindless third-person blow-em-up action need to put that money toward Earth Defense Force 2017 instead, which I've seen as low as $15-$20 at Blockbuster and, IIRC, used from Gamefly. And it's leaps and bounds above Bullet Witch.

    Depends entirely on the store you work at, how far in advance the lists are printed for a particular sale, your manager's aversions to titles being "misplaced" in the back, and so on.

    I should also point out that it's not a condemnation either: Having worked more than my fair share of retail, I can easily say that the people who work at these stores deserve what few "perks" they get and then some.

    I went rummaging today. I didn't find much; however, I was very pleased to find a brand spanking new sealed version of GBA Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones for a whopping 4.99. Consider I was under the impression it was out of print for some time, I'm feeling good about it.
    It's always nice to not leave empty handed.

    Went today to look, found absolutely nothing that was on the list. On top of that, all of the games were not even close to being alphabetized and random titles were stacked on top of each other. I gave up after a while.


    P.S. When did CC start selling used games?

    picked up Project Sylpheed for like, $9. Not bad to add to the collection and the only one I didn't already own.

    Also grabbed Senko no Ronde for like, $8 at CompUSA across the street.

    Two quirky titles for under $20, so a good weekend for me.

    I just picked up God Hand and Valkyrie Profile 2. I was even able to ask an employee to keep a copy of VP2 on reserve for me overnight. This was at two different CC stores, as well. :lol:
