Ultimate Ghosts 'n Goblins: Opinions?

My weakness with the G'nG series is that I'm an absolute sucker for the first level music of any of the games, I'll happily replay the first levels over and over again to hear that fantastic, catchy theme tune. I picked up the PSP installment a few days ago after spotting it and gasping in horror that I had forgotten this game was out and I actually owned a PSP now and love the game.

I can see why people will find the game extremley frustrating as it is extremley unforgiving, but in my opinion, when it all clicks after 25 deaths and you are finally running through a level in ulimate gold armour descimating every enemy in your path and hitting each jump perfectly it makes all those horribly infuriating deaths worthwhile.

I'm curious as to whom else purchased this game, their opinions on it and how far they got. I personally think the game looks pretty damn nice and as stated before, the music is top notch. I'm currentley up to the boss on lava world on standard mode and up to the first boss on ultimate. Plus, anyone agree with me that the game is basically Metal Slug 3 crosses with Castlevania?

I got it and I quite like it except for having to collect all the rings, they didn't need to have you collect so many. I heard for Euroland they downed the number to ten or so but when you need to get almost 30 of them it's a considerable pain in the ass and comes off as tedious and a lame ass way to lengthen the game.

Still, graphics, sound and game play are all classic G n G and that makes me love it so.

I still cling to the belief they need to make another game with the red gargoyle as a hero once more like he was in a NES game and GB one too. Pity the negative sales for one month will probably keep that from ever happening.

Firebrand? I don't think they made an NES game for him, but Demon's Crest on the SNES was one of the best adventure games of the generation.

Demon's Quest, yes that sounds like the name.

Wasn't it suppose to be the same type of gargoyle?
