OK, so this is what I can remember about the game.

There was a green monster on the front of the box. (actually the monster might have been on the back of the box)
There were a lot of corridors mostly with white walls.
I think it was on ms-dos but it might have been for windows 95 I'm not sure.
It was in first person view but I can't remember if it was a shooter.

Nope the monster was scary like so scary that it gave me nightmares when I was younger.

Sorry, I was half joking. When you said green monster on the box, that's the first thing that sprang to mind.

I actually played this game when I was younger. Got it in a box of Chex cereal. It was actually a pretty good Doom ripoff that wasn't that bad.

The opening cutscene was especially bad-ass with an intergalactic council of Breakfast Cereals sending in their elite Chex warriors to defeat some..... actually, never mind. It was cool when I was a little kid.

I've never seen a name on go un-named even with the vaguest of clues. Surely somebody knows this game.

I remember playing a game like that on my Sega Mega drive... I actually still have it!

    It was called Corporation.

    I've got one!
It was a top down rpg/strategy game, and then it went to side scrolling monster killing action. Was on a sega system of ye olde times perhaps? I could be imagining it though, and if so I need to get it made..

Actraiser was the only one that had that I'm pretty sure.

Sounds a bit like Sword of Vermillion, which I only recently rediscovered thanks to another thread. Top-down in towns, firsp-person in dungeons and side-on for fights, though admittedly it didn't actually scroll in the fights.

An old mac game, black and white,

The basis of the game was that semicircles were on the screen, and were re-drawn by a looping snake-line

if any lines became a full circle, you were supposed to click on them
