Hideously Annoying Gray Bar in Firefox

This afternoon, the Comcast guys came to install cable and internet. Presumably they fiddle with my laptop to make sure the internet was working. After they left, I noticed that an incredibly annoying gray bar has shown up at the bottom of my Firefox window:
(spoiled for huge)
How the hell do I get rid of it? I can't resize it. Clicking and right-clicking on it do nothing. It takes up a huge amount of the page. That little red arrow thing doesn't do anything. Wtf, man?
Yeah, never give cable install guys access to your computer without you standing over their shoulder. They try to install shitty and unnecessary stuff all the time. Look to see if there is anything installed that you didn't want, then uninstall it. Removing Comcast's software won't mess anything up.
it looks like its the "status" bar of the explorer. Of course, one could quickly dismiss that because it is a different shade of gray. Every explorer has that "status" bar at the bottom, and i can see yours. This appears to be below it though.
TBH, i dont have firefox, so i cant help you, but i dont think a right-click will fix it. Check your i-net settings thoroughly.
Also go to tools->add-ons. Is there anything there that says something about comcast or cable?

Nope, nothing in add-ons--although FireFTP has mysteriously disappeared from the Tools menu. And also no new programs listed in the Windows Control Panel. And yes, I rebooted.

I kind of doubt that. All the add-ons I had before, like Chatzilla, are still there. And that gray bar has absolutely no functionality whatsoever. It just takes up space. Why would they do that?
it's comcast. I'd have to suggest uninstalling whatever shit they put on there, wiping your firefox directory, and starting anew. Save your bookmarks though
I don't know, why do they even write software to put on people's computers when it's entirely unnecessary to get the service they provide? Why does every printer and router come with a ton of proprietary software to help you "set up," even though all you really need to do is plug it in? Every company out there has this idea that people need their software for some retarded reason.

I uninstalled Firefox. I deleted everything in the C:/Program Files/Mozilla Firefox folder. I reinstalled Firefox.

It's still fucking there.

Finally got rid of it by uninstalling all add-ons.
Apparently it's a common Firefox bug, and the fact that it happened after the cable guy came is a coincidence.

And to ask the obvious: did you reboot?
Reboot.
I've had that a few times. Aside from what I said, if you're using an old Firefox shortcut, try opening straight from the .exe
The quick way to get rid of it is just to reinstall Firefox.
