Calling Card?

I've been dating a great girl who goes to a college in the town I live / work in, and she's gone home for the month of January to Istanbul. We've stayed in reasonably close contact through e-mail and I've gotten a couple calls from her (her mother and her talk frequently from the US -> Turkey, so they've got the phone plans worked out), but she's recently given me her number there and told me I can call her anytime. I'm going to take that as a sign that she wants me to call her, but I'm not sure what the best approach to calling international is. Searching on the internet turns up a lot of shady deals, so I'd really just love a recommendation. Anyone? I'm looking for about an hour's time.

Edit: Skype's not really an option, by the way. Just looking for phone to phone, it'd be too much coordination and trouble to do Skype.

I call China on a roughly weekly basis. I just googled the destination country and the words 'calling card'. I looked at a few. There's different things going on though. Often they'll charge a different rate for different cities and whether you're calling a land line or a cell phone. Also your access number may or may not be toll free, so if you're paying for domestic long distance factor that in. There are also sometimes connection fees or minimum charges per call. And finally there are often service fees which are fees charged periodically (once every two weeks or once a month) once your card is activated.

But I got a card where I call china for 1 cent a minute, no service or connection fees. It expires after 6 months though and I have to dial long distance domestically (though i use a cell phone so that doesn't matter).
