Problem connecting to the internet with laptop. [SOLVED]

Yesterday I got a new wireless router(Netgear WGT624 v3) for use with a laptop in the house. The laptop has a Linksys 2.4G notebook adaptor that's worked fine with other routers, but with this one I just get "Network cable is unplugged," even though every other computer in the house is connected just fine. The laptop is running Windows 2000, another computer is running XP and the last is Linux. The router didn't come with any software, but it's a refurb, so that may not have been included. Getting this will be my next step.

Now I'd be the first to admit that I'm mostly hopeless when it comes to figuring this sort of thing out, but I'm also the only one around to do it. But I'm very tired and it's giving me a headache just thinking about screwing around for hours, so I'd like to get some input from people who hopefully have a better idea of what could actually be wrong here.

Any help is appreciated.

If I am reading this right, the "Network Cable Unplugged" Should have no bearing on the wireless connection issue. That's an error message for a lan cable hook up. Check in network setting to see if the wireless connection is enabled, and disable the local area connection if you're going wirelessly on the lappy.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I'll try to help further.

Alright, I got it fixed. Thankfully it wasn't that hard. I was just being stupid. Once I checked the wireless card's monitoring program I found the option to find and then connect to the router. Thanks anyway.
