The Food Thread: Always better than Neville's shitty one [56k]
I think we should post photos/pictures of what we're currently eating. Mainly because food is awesome, and it can give us ideas on what else we can eat.
Here is the best way to cook a steak if you like rare steak but don't have access to a grill:
1) put in oven on a rack for 20 minutes at 250 degrees
2) heat a little oil in a pan until the oil is just smoking. Sear both sides of steak for about a minute or so.
3) Eat.
The marinade I used:
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
1 sliced onion
2 minced cloves of garlic
there was only a little bit of coffee left when I got to the office so I filled the rest of my mug with french vanilla creamer and now I've got the shakes.
man when I come out to Seattle in march, I'm taking over Nev's kitchen and cooking a royal feast.
Stale, if you are intent on this, I totally call second in command. I cook like a fiend, and make both simple meals and more complex dishes. I also have an odd habit of going to other people's homes and cooking for them.
I had some really delicious pork satay, peanut sauce and white rice for lunch, but I didn't make it (except the white rice, a rice cooker is the only thing I know my way around in the kitchen)
Chicken Breast, covered with home made mushroom, parmesan and tomato pasta sauce. Cheddar melted on top.
Basically I just heated up the sauce. Chopped up some mushrooms, grated some parmesan, and threw it into the sauce.
Pan fried up some chicken breast (no oil). Put the chicken breast into an oven pan, poured the sauce over it. Grated tiny bit more parmesan over the top. Sliced up some cheddar and placed on top. Sprinkled some herbs over it.
Put it in the oven until the cheese was melted.

Their cashew chicken is revolting, however.
