So my girlfriend has a bit of a boob dilemma. Her left one is a tad bigger, and by a tad, I mean it's probably at least 2 cup sizes bigger. A bit of googling tells me this isn't uncommon, but what somewhat bothers me is that there's what appears to be a discolored ring around it as well. As if it's bruised or something. Like it's being pulled on I guess? And it MIGHT be slightly bigger than it was a few weeks ago. We're not sure. Oh, and the nipple is a tad dry. Like, skin catching dry. Not quite peeling, but something like that, if that makes sense.
The question is does anyone know what might be causing that? Should we be worried? We're probably gonna go to the Student Health center, but she really doesn't want to go, despite being worried about it herself.
She should absolutely see a doctor. The skin discoloration and increased size are worrying. Is the enlarged breast warmer to the touch, and/or does the skin look weirdly like an orange rind? Or, is the nipple skin itchy at all, and is there any fluid discharge from the area?
I'll say that if there's anything weird going on with a tit, you should probably get it looked at (that's why we're supposed to do self-exams and all) just to be safe. Don't start worrying already though - being stressed isn't good for her health, and anyway most of the time weird chestular anomalies don't turn out to be caused by cancer.
If it was always like that, I'd imagine it's something to do with the fact that bras don't properly fit women with different size breasts very well. If this is a sudden change (the coloration etc), then that's cause for concern.
Has she used a different detergent while washing her bra, or is it worn out or anything? Sometimes that type of thing can irritate the skin.
Also, it's wintertime and skin can get really dry because of that.
And yeah, it's normal for boobs to be different sizes. Mine are.
But for the other thing, I've never heard of what you're describing. I would go to the doctor. Tell her to bring a girlfriend with her if it will make her less uncomfortable. Or she can always go to a clinic off campus if she knows the Dr. or something.

I'd contact a doctor ASAP. The sooner the better, obviously.
See a doc.

Hope everything checks out okay.
Has it always been bigger? or is this a sudden thing now?
