Our results don't really matter much to the Democrats. The DNC won't seat several of our delegates due to our state congress douching up the primary season by moving the date. While the Republicans have been campaigning through here, Hildog is the only one I am aware of that has even acknowledged our existence.

    ---

Webstream would be welcome. I don't know if MSNBC typically provides one or not. I hope they do.

    ---

I'm with Elks: finally we've trimmed the fat.

Right, but there is a possibility of a significant vote for uncommitted, which would be embarrassing for Clinton and/or make for an interesting point for Edwards or Obama to make concerning her electability.

He dropped out a couple of days ago. Though I didn't see him throwing his (minuscule) support to anyone, and at this point if he hasn't the moment is past. Seems odd, since that's the one chip he had to play, but whatever.

I considered asking a question about broadband internet, because it would give Obama a chance to school Clinton and Edwards- his plan for national broadband is considerably better than either of theirs.

In the end, though, I went with a question about increasing the amount of scientific research done in the US, which is something of a pet issue for me.

I asked one about copyright, which is my big issue, but I doubt they'll air it. MSNBC and all benefit greatly from monolithic copyright law, so why would they air a question that'd hurt them?

This debate could be huge. Only Nevada and SC are before super tuesday, and SC seems pretty solid on Obama.

I'm really hoping Obama can make this happen. And if not that, then maybe Edwards starting the debate with the line "I endorse Obama"

You just HAD to say it, didn't you. I was a lot more comfortable in a state of jittery panic for the next year or so.

Do we know if there will be any specific topics? Given that people are concerned about racial issues entering the Democratic race, the situation could be tricky for Obama to navigate.

This is the first election in 80 years without an incumbent running. For some reason I doubt we'll have as wide open a field in 4. Especially on the Dem's side.

Yes seeing as he's a sitting member of the outgoing administration. This is the first time we haven't had a Veep or sitting President in the race since 1928. It very much is one of the most important elections of our time because of both all the issues that need to be addressed and all of the issues being brought to bear by the variety of candidates that ran up to the starting line. The degree of choice available is pretty much unprecedented in modern times.

Obama handles this by making it a non-issue(aside from mentioning that it's great to have a woman/black/latino(til this week anyway) in the contest, showing obvious progress). Aside from that, he will stay away from the race issue. For the last week we've seen the Clinton campaign race-baiting him, trying to get him to make an issue out of it, and he won't (If the series of comments wasn't planned, then that's a hell of a coincidence). When he did respond to what has been said over the last few days, it was all about how his record was being distorted for political points. In short, I hope that he has a chance to call her on her bullshit during the debate.

So Kucinich sued NBC to get back into the debate, and the judge is making them re-invite him.

So it's no longer a sane Clinton-Edwards-Obama face-off. Now it has one quarter leprechaun involved.

Good. It's hard to get people to watch debates with meaningless people in them. The CNN/YouTube debates were great at the time for getting politically apathetic people to pay attention but now there are questions with no relevant candidates speaking with an abundance of questions that have more irrelevant candidates than relevant ones.

Dennis, enough is enough. Quit being the crybaby every election. The electorate doesn't want you.

If it comes to it, couldn't they shift the debate to MSNBC and simulcast it on NBC so there isn't even a claim of public spectrum ownership and they can tell him to gtfo out of their studio?

While it would be awesome to see that happen, it would be a PR nightmare for NBC Universal that they don't need right now.

That we as supporters of relevant candidates don't need right now.
