The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Today we found a video showing a new Duck Hunt game for the Nintendo Wii, the video was apparently made by the son of someone that works at Hudson Soft.
In the video (that you can see below) the son explains he found the disc on his fathers desk…if true this boy could be risking his dad’s job (nice move).
Duckhunt is an all-time classic shooting game and ideal for the Nintendo Wii, but I am not sure if it’s worth paying full price for…maybe as a mini game.
Upon actually seeing the video, it's clear that it's real in some respect. Certainly it's playable. I would hope they'd do a better job than that, though. It would make a good Wiiware though, even as it is, provided it's cheap enough.
I actually would love for this to be released as a new packin with the Zapper. After picking up Ghost Squad ($9.98 - thanks Target!) I could really use a 2nd gun.
The background looks exactly the same as the one seen in Wii Play. You suppose Nintendo would straight up reuse assets for a "new" Duck Hunt?
Personally I would expect a return of the tree and the bush.
You mean like, say, a game starring Link from Twilight Princess, shooting up stuff with a crossbow? That sort of reuse?
It's not quite the same, though. Yeah, they probably reused assets from parts of TP, but the maps aren't exactly the same or viewed from the same angle. This literally looks exactly like Wii Play's shooting: a bit of ground, green grass, and sky, same colors and look and everything. It's the same damn game.

It'd make sense if it is Wii Ware or something, though; the so-called "Duck Hunt" on Wii Play wasn't terribly Duck Hunt-ish at all, save for the background and the fact you're shooting, and the OCCASSIONAL duck that would come by.
Not to say it's bad or anything, but as a fan of the original, it's not really what I was looking for in an update.

My exact thoughts.
... eh, yeah it probably will be compiled with something else. Hopefully it includes everything, like clay pidgeons and 2p controlling ducks.

Electronic composer for hire.
It does, but maybe it could be some sort of branding thing...

The animation makes Colin's Bear Animation look good.

Especially considering that he could have leaked it perfectly anonymously, no need to go out of his way to get his own dad in shit.
Also, I bet Nintendo will charge premium price for this.
