T-Shirt printing

In the near future, I'll be looking to print some t-shirts to sell for a website that a friend and I are developing. The design is a relatively simple 2 color affair, so silk screening is an option. Also, we would prefer to go through a service that would provide an online storefront, to minimize the work we have to do. The only such service I am aware of is cafepress, but I am wary of them because they use iron-on transfers, and I am unsure of their quality. In short, my questions are such:
1) Have any of you bought stuff from cafepress before? Does it hold up well compared to silk-screening?
2) Are there (reputable) any sites similar to cafepress that offer silk-screening? Since silk screening can't be done on-demand, how does it work if there's inventory that doesn't sell?

Thanks in advance!

I dont know of a service that would do it for you, but apparently T-shirt hell does their silk-screening "on-demand" to allow the largest number of combinations and such. So it is possible.

I have used CustomInk for personal use as well as for printing of about 40 t-shirts for a couple different years for a University gaming club. The quality and service levels are much higher than what I've seen from Cafepress and their prices are very competitive. I highly recommend them.

As far as unsold inventory, I can't be of much help as I've ordered only small quantities (40 being the highest).
