Did HP screw me over?

If you may or may not remember, my old hp slimline computer died in a horrible overheating incident. I am now poised to try and prevent it from dieing up in smoke and HP seems to really enjoying kissing ass. But thats just it, I'm concerned about something.

They "up'd" some of the specs of the custom built computer, I guess to make up for the shitty ventilation of their older model (which apparently is not on the website anymore? What the Hell?) Hopefully this replacement has proper ventilation and a non crappy power supply, which they never mention what kind of Power Supply it has.

Anyway, they upgraded the computer to have more harddrive space and a better processor, all that goodness. But, the graphics card. They totally changed it. Thing is, I'm not a total expert on types of graphics card and which series are better and what not. The replacement computer has a ATI card, I have never used a ATI card before, I've been accustomed to Nvidia, so this we a surprise.

Thing is, I don't know if they sacrificed my card for the upgrading of the other parts.

IN SHORT: How do these two cards compare?

ORIGINAL DEAD OVERHEATED COMPUTER CARD : 256MB Nvidia 8400GS (I liked it, too bad it died.)

REPLACEMENT COMPUTER CARD : 256MB ATi Radeon 2400 Pro

Now, before anyone starts, yes, I know they're budget cards and I plan on upgrading them, I'm just curious if HP replaced my card with a better or a weaker card.

According to a quick benchmark session over at Tom's Hardware, they seem pretty similar. The new card (2400) scored a bit higher on some occasions, a bit lower on others.

They're in the same 'tier', though. They both seem to run for around $50 from Newegg.
