The only cool thing about my job this week is the Solid State RAID5 array we brought online yesterday. Our normal two processor 2GB RAID5 database server processes about 1000-1500 rows per second. The quad core 2GB RAID5 solid state machine processed more than 1,000,000 in about 10 seconds.
