It's a planned Zombie MMO. That's...that's all I have to say, read the site. I'm currently reading through it, so I make a better opening post later. D:
Exanimus is an online massively multiplayer online game created in a world where the dead live and roam the earth, attacking the surviving living. While most of the world is dead, there are small pockets of survivors that exist in barricaded cities scattered across the planet. Players of Exanimus will have the option of playing as a living survivor or as one of the dead roaming the earth. Exanimus will allow players to experience a new type of MMO based on the horror genre. Exanimus will feature challenging game play and visually "intense" environments.

- Based on the Horror Genre breaking away from traditional Sci-Fi / Fantasy MMO's.

- Ability for players to fight for survival as a human or join the ranks of the dead.

- Large urban and rural areas for players to discover.

- New custom crafting and economy system.

- Current plans include both traditional & perma-death servers.

Gameplay

Does Exanimus follow any kind of story?
Yes, there is a storyline created for players that they will be able to immerse themselves in.

What kind of game play can I expect?
Exanimus is a very dark and graphic game. Players will experience a very apocalyptic world, where everything is as bad as it can get, and then some. Players should expect to see half-rotten corpses walking around and tearing apart the bodies of the living for food.

Can I play as a zombie?
Yes, players will have the ability to become part of the walking dead and experience the game from a zombie's perspective. Nothing shows your friends that you care more than a big bite on the cheek.

Is there PvP?
Yes. Exact PvP details will be released at a later date.

Is this a solo game or team play game?
Both. We recognize that people like to play with others and sometimes by themselves. We have designed a format that will allow both types of players to enjoy their game experience.

I don't quite see how playing a zombie would be any fun in an mmo. You would have to a)Not allow players to communicate and b)make them move slow as hell. Unless its some running zomibe crap, I don't see why people would play a zombie over a survivor. Unless being a zombie earn't stuff for your human alt.

Or unless you play as a horde of zombies not just one... pikmin/overlord style.

I would be looking forward to this muchly... but as it stands, there are no in-game shots, and the website seems relatively amateur... so I'm not sure how well this game could turn out. Still, I love all things zombie, so I shall keep an eye on it!

Yeah, no in-game stuff is kinda hurting my excitement over it at the moment...but the potential, concept art, and the direction they seem to be going is AWESOME.

I just kid of wish they made it so that there was indeed permadeath. . . or atleast, perma-un-death? and that it could boil down to a win/loss scenario. Like, say if there is a safe haven in Alaska that is the ultimate goal of the game, they should make it so that you could reach that goal and once every surviving human is accounted for at the final goal the game is "won" and maybe those that made it may carry their characters over to the next server/game start.

I might be wrong, but i'm pretty sure that's a dead game. I remember seeing that website with the exact same details, like two years ago, if not more.

It's not...last Dev Entry was made in December 1, 2007, plus there are even more recent responses by the devs in the forums.

According to what I have found out, there are perma/non-perma death servers planned. So if you want to play realistically, you can enter a perma death one.

Come on now people, don't crush my hopes and dreams here!!!

As much as I want a Zombie Apocalypse MMO, I am highly skeptical that it will be these guys that make it.

I cant seem to see anything that they have actually released.

But hey.. more power to them if they get some stuff together and make a demo that a big company gets interested in. Of course , they need to fire there concept artist. Yikes..
