US 360 RRoD, but I'm in Australia

Hey there,
I bought a US 360 and had shipped to Australia in January '06. Had no problems with it until yesterday, when I got the 3 red rings. I wanted to know a few things, so I figured here was the best place to ask them. I will be calling Australian Xbox support today. Anyway:

1. Do I have to ship it back to the US to get it fixed, or can I get it all done here?
2. If I can get it done here, will they send me a PAL 360, or a US/NTSC one?
3. If it has to be shipped to the US, will I have to pay for shipping there and back?
