Studying For Clep Tests

I have the opportunity to take CLEP and DANTES tests for free. I knocked out composition a while back by the skin of my teeth without studying but since that was my strongest course I suspect I might need to study before I take on any others. I'm only working on my associates right now and want to get the basics out of the way. To do this I obviously need to study, but what?

Well, I bet you might have already figured out to do this, but go to the Collegeboard's website. Here, they have links to descriptions for all of the exams. Just click on any ones that you're interested in, and it will lead to a brief blurb on the subject, and then a breakdown of exactly what's on the exam and the percentage of questions on each category of topics.

Another thing to do is to check up on is what CLEP tests your school actually gives credit for. Just search "CLEP," or possibly "advanced standing credit" at your college's website, and it will usually lead to a page that breaks down which tests and what scores lead to credit in which classes. It will also tell you any limitations, like at my college you aren't allowed to try to take that exact CLEP test again for a year if you fail it.

I don't know anything about DANTE tests, so I can't help you there.
