I thought Word 2007 used all new "C" fonts? And I don't mean Courier. I believe the monospace font for Office 2007 in Vista is named "Consolas."
edit to add: oh, and I know you want courier specifically, but in other words you won't get it into Office via the default install. You'll have to find a ClearType version of it, since I believe that's what Vista uses.
Have you compared the two? Like I said, very little difference. In the character map in Windows they appear slightly different, however putting them side by side in Word 2003 looks identical.
Unfortunately I don't know of any way to force Word to include the font given that it's already in your fonts folder but won't show up. This page (http://help.lockergnome.com/office/Word-ftopict995898.html) is related to this and seems to indicate that it Word will not use it no matter what. I suspect that when I select Courier in my version of Word it's probably displaying Courier New anyway perhaps.
Are you providing them with a computer document or a printed document? If printed, I really suspect that using Courier New would be perfectly acceptable as it's still a fixed-width courier font. However, if you're providing them with a computer file they're more likely just concerned with compatibility.

Thanks.
Looks like I'll be doing a lot of typing on my macbook for now.
They are very picky.
