48 HOURS OF SONIC AND MARIO FUND RAISER

Last weekend I had seen four college kids, now known as the ‘448 group’, play every 3D Zelda game in 48 hours. They had raised a good amount of money for Childs Play, and this weekend, I plan to do something similar. Credits go to them for the idea of this.

This weekend, I will be hosting a 48 hour Mario and Sonic fund raiser. My two friends and I will be playing 2D Mario and Sonic games for 48 hours, all on live streaming webcam, taking Skype calls, and taking chat questions. There will be a donation link setup on the site so people can donate to the Childs Play Organization. ALL funds will be donated to Childs Play, and pictures will be posted after of the funds put into the account.

We will also be giving away free stuff! I got some sweet PP swag that we will be giving away, toques and T-shirts!

The event begin at Friday on 5PM EST, and will run for 48 hours. It will be broad casted on www.justin.tv/therealgillz

The games we will hopefully complete in the 48 hours are Mario 1, 2, 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshis Island, Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, 3 Sonic and Knuckles (All 7 Chaos emeralds will be attempted), and if time permits, we will end it with Mario: The Lost Levels (Formally known as Mario 2 in Japan)

    I'd fucking rock that shit out in like a few hours. I could beat the sonic portion in a extremely small fraction of that time for you guys. Anything for charity.

    EDIT: And I have a camera and the games with me.

    Are Sonic and Mario games that long though?

    I mean, I suppose if you just play them one by one without a real goal in mind....

    Ohh, oh, I've got it- play Mario and then Sonic and then Mario etc etc.

    You're new here so I'll fill you in on something: Never mess with TSR when it comes to Sonic. He'd play through the games in a matter of hours and give a commentary on the entire development of the games while doing so.
