Video Game System Recycling

Does anyone know how one would typically recycle an old video game console(broken so little or no chance to sell it)? More specifically, if you can help, does anyone know how this is done within the vicinity of Calgary, Alberta? The electronics recycling depot information I could find says nothing about accepting old consoles. I really don't need them but I really hate to throw away something like that. Any help would be welcome. Thank you.

Edit: The consoles are specifically a broken xbox and ps2(fat one) if that makes any difference.

Put them on Craigslist? I'm sure someone will take them, even broken. There are still lots of parts inside that work, unless they were directly hit by a lightning bolt or something along those lines.

You will likely have to take them to a dump, but they would qualify as "electronics." Cities often take computer printers, monitors, old microwaves, etc., so I'd be surprised if Calgary didn't have anything.

Just sell it to the Old School Gamer, I bet he'll take it. He took my broken PS2 for parts when it stopped working.
