So I just picked up a new 4gb iPod Nano and I wanted to throw a couple small episodes of Family Guy or Looney Tunes shorts on there for a quick viewing in between classes. The only problem is I don't know how to rip them from my dvd collection. What's good software to do this? Preferably free too.
Google for HandBrake. Tis awesometacular for this.
Handbrake is the shit. I'm actually ripping Transformers from DVD right now.
When you load it up, you're going to see a bunch of pre-set options for ripping. Since you're going to be watching the videos on your iPod, pick the "iPod Low-Rez" setting. It'll make the files smaller so you can fit more of them on your iPod.
