Help Keep Me Occupied At School Plz [DS/GBA]

So, uh, tomorrow, I go back to school. I've got a pretty ridiculous schedule (I go to a technical college, yeah I know, and I didn't want to have to move to different campuses between classes), and I don't drive, so Tuesdays I'll be at school from 8 AM (first class start) to 9:30 PM (last class end.)

I'm going to have about eight hours of downtime in the school each day, and I don't really want to move back and forth because bus rates in Milwaukee are painful (1.75 for two hours on the bus, give or take), so I can't really afford to be moving back and forth (That'd be like seven dollars a day, and I'm only working 20 hours a week at seven dollars an hour!)

Basically: I have a Nintendo DS, so I really need a game that I will get addicted to that has tons of replayability to keep me occupied for hours on end while I wait between classes. I can just hang out in the library, so I can plug that bastard right into the wall and not worry about running out of power.

Other alternatives to playing video games all day would be appreciable. (I'll do a lot of reading, too, but I can't read for six hours straight.)

tl;dr: I need a DS or GBA game that will keep me very, very busy for a very long time over the course of the semester.

That... is a good idea. But it doesn't answer my question!

Tetris DS , Puzzle Quest(Bejeweled), or Advance Wars maybe?

In terms of games though I'd suggest Brain Age, specifically the Sudoku part. I've had the game for more than a year and I'm still not finished all the puzzles. That is if you like sudoku of course. Ouendan 1/2 or EBA also eat up a lot of time if you're on the harder difficulties and like beating your head against a wall repeatedly.

I can't stop playing Geometry Wars: Galaxies.

t - steve-o99 - Phantom Hourglass isn't that long. It took me about a week to beat completely, with all ship parts.

    Also: Meteos.

May I suggest the Castlevania Double Pack with Dawn of Dissonance and Aria of Sorrow?
    Ign Article Here

It sells for about $30 but I found it at TRU for $12. This sucker kept me busy during my 3 hour down times at school forever. Know its an oldie but still a very good goodie.

Do you have wifi at your school? If so, you can play some Advance Wars or Tetris online, that will keep you busy for a long time.

To add to this, you could also get a PDA/one of the low-cost subnotebooks hitting the market(Eee PC, OLPC XO, CloudBook, etc.) and browse the webbernets and such.

As for games, Geometry Wars Galaxies is always good, as are the Castlevanias, the Megaman ZX series, and so on.

If you've got the hardware for the job(PDA/subnotebook/PSP/ipod/etc.), media in general is always good. Music, podcasts, video podcasts, TV shows, anime, movies, etc.

For about 7 months I was working 7 hours a day as an unarmed security guard in front of an xray machine. This left me with about 6.5 hours of downtime so I naturally turned to my DS. Some of the games that helped keep me sane are: Contra 4, Geometry Wars Galaxies, Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, Meteos, Brain Age 1 & 2, Pokemon Diamond, Etrian Odyssey, Hotel Dusk, and perhaps 1 or two more I've forgotten. I also played a lot of the Phantasy Star Collection for the GBA, as well as Final Fantasy 1 & 2: Dawn of Souls, Final Fantasy 5, Final Fantasy 6, Fire Emblem Sacred Stones, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and Advance Wars, and once again probably more that I've forgotten.

Needless to say my job has driven me to buy (and complete) more games than any other factor in my life right now. :D

edit: forgot Metroid Fusion, that was one of the better GBA games.

    edit2: also forgot Puzzle Quest

New Advance Wars. I assume your university has wifi (thats a safe assumption these days, no?) and you can play WiFi with random people (or with friend code stuff). Do it!

Of course, I may be slightly biased...

Puzzle Quest and the new Advance Wars are absolute black hole time sinks. FF3 as well. 8 hours a day is a lot of time to fill, you're going to get bored no matter how many games you get. Blerf.

I would highly reccomend completing any and all work you need to do for classes while you are there, so you can do things like eat and sleep, which some people enjoy. Also, walking around the neighborhood or the campus if it's in not too bad of an area. A good walk helps break up a long day.

Man, I wish I had your problem, what with too much time and not enough to do.

All of the games mentioned here are pretty good, and can easily be time black holes. I guess it really depends on what kind of games you like. If it was me, I'd probably go for some of the FF remakes, and the new advance wars.

If you have a fancy for rhythm games, elite beat agents, ouendan + ouendan 2 are all good fun. Just make sure you have headphones! Also second Geometry Wars Galaxies

One game I got pretty addicted to on GBA was Shining Soul 2. It's a little dungeon crawler where you pick a class and beat up a ton of monsters. I mainly played it during downtime too
