Steve Zahn has some fantastic acting scenes in that movie, as does Jeremy Davies. It's one of those movies where I think it gets better in the last act.
I like MPC's UI better, and it seems to have a slightly smaller elbows when it comes to clock cycles and memory.
VLC is what I uses when I don't have exactly the right codec installed and MPC doesn't work right.
I've had issues with it and soft subs.
Yeah, I'm using it on my Macbook right now to play mkvs, because CCCP doesn't work for macs. The softsubs look like shit
VLC sucks massive amounts of... well, you know... for OS X. It's horrible. Unfortunately there isn't another Swiss army knife for OS X. The closest you get is the Perian plugin for QuickTime but QuickTime handles files oddly as well. I wish someone would get a media player right on OS X.
Somehow I wanged my tiger system at work slightly, and now finder no longer has the little search box thing in the upper right hand corner. Spotlite on the desktop is still there, and it's still there if I go to an open window, but it's gone in the typical finder window.
Anyone know what the hell I did and how to fix it? This system.... well it's only recently come under my control, and there are a few years worth of very poorly sorted desktop publishing files scattered about its raid.
Right-click that section of the Finder window and drag in the Search thing. Should do it.
Use NicePlayer for 99% of stuff (its just a frontend for quicktime but it comes with all the codecs in a zip file and stuff) and then VLC for stuff that doesn't work, which is rare

It's more likely a frame rate change. It'd fuck up the interlacing and cause mismatches like that.
