Step 1: Don't buy Dell.
Well, they're fine as long as nothing ever goes wrong with the laptop, which has been true 3 times out of 4. I think if I ever get a Dell again, I'm going to get an XPS. They're higher quality than Inspirons.

Really? They've always been good whenever I've had a problem.
Well, the time I needed to get my video card replaced, they made me reformat my harddrive twice, and then one rep told me I should just set my display to a lower color-depth so I don't see the artifacts that are due to faulty memory. Now I need a new network card, and the guy took like an hour to fiddle around with my power settings and then uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for the wired network card. Pure genius. And then I asked to talk to a supervisor, and he told me to... wait for it... reinstall Windows.
The other 3 laptops I've used from them have been solid for years, though.
Ah yea, that sounds like shoddy tech support there Irene.
Yeah, I think it also varies by the sort of problem. They weren't very difficult when I needed a new battery and a new power supply. They're probably just really reluctant to send technicians out.

Well, at least they have this 24/7 online chat thing now. That's a vast improvement over the phone line. At least I can watch TV and masterbate while on hold.
The chick in the picture on the first page of the goth thread is actually kind of attractive in an odd, probably-very-fucked-in-the-head way. The dude looks like a total twit, though. All hunched and serious. He's the kind of guy you want to hit in the face with a whip cream pie.

I'm using mp3 DirectCut which I just downloaded a little while ago. It's free, and while I'm not sure how "advanced" its features may or may not be, all I need it to do is cut a song down to the chorus or a particular solo or whatever, which it does perfectly.

Of course since they live in Washington state, they're largely irrelevant.
