The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I downloaded this and for a while it worked just fine. Then it started to get a little finicky. It wouldn't start its connecting every time. Then it started to get less and less reliable and now it won't start up at all. Is there anything I can do to fix this? thanks

It could just be out-of-date so it's not connecting with the rest of the network or something, but these filesharing apps in general are pretty atrocious. If the program itself isn't a spyware and malware ridden POS (which Limewire is, IIRC) then if you do get connected, all you're doing is opening the door to the PC equivalent of SARS.
Try an up-to-date build, if you really want to.

Nothing screams "Log my ip and give me spyware" more like Limewire, and don't forget that the majority of Limewire users are completely computer illiterate.
Use one of the much better P2P programs out there, like uTorrent or Bitcomet, if you want to steal stuff.
Speaking of which... I use uTorrent and find that I can get pretty good speeds, but it seems like whenever I use it, it kills my home's entire pipe. Does my ISP magically know when I use a torrent program and kill off my connection?

So let's say you have a 3mb connection from your ISP.
You probably really get like 2mb.
If your connection with utorrent is at 1.5mb/s the rest of your house now is running on about .5mb/s.
See how that works?
Unless you mean that you are getting a good connection with utorrent and then your network connection speed drops, in which case, I have no idea.
