Game looks ok. 06 was really fresh and new. 07 was boring and terrible rehashed shit. This year doesn't look all that great either. Not to mention the god awful commentary. Vasgersian sucks and so does Campbell. Don't get me started on Hudler. Gameplay seems to be about the same as it was last year. MLB 2K8 looks like crap too. I might just not buy a BB game this year since no one is making a conscious effort to try to go beyond what they are capable of like EA did with NHL 08.
I've always loved the 2K franchise, but after playing the MLB franchise I can't go back (maybe 2k will get it right this year?). Anyway, I'm looking forward to MLB 08. MLB '07, despite the so-so graphics, is the best game of baseball I've played I think ever.
Will '08 still offer something for the PS2? '07 and I had a bit of a love-hate thing going on. I love baseball but I hate its many, many, many obvious simple-fix bugs.
Still, I will boot it up and play the broken "Road to the Show" mode for hours, even if it cant calculate stats properly and rewards you for not being a team player. Sadly, MLB The Show might be the best series of console baseball games out there. If '08 fixes some of the more in-your-face bugs I might pick it up a few months after it drops.
I played the hell out of 06 and 07, they're extremely polished baseball video games, probably the best I've ever had the pleasure of playing. My only big gripe is that it's a bit too easy, even on higher difficulties. Other than that they're terrific games, Vasgersian's play-by-play is the best I've heard on a sports game.
I take offense to the best baseball franchise ... do we ALL forget MVP baseball and World Series Baseball??? pffft ...
The Show 07 was the first baseball game I bought outside of EA so I was very hesitant ... there are many bugs that apparently have been fixed (like the cpu firing your coaches after every single game in the dynasty mode ... Looking at all the screens, the graphics look a little more polished I just hope the game gets the same treatment ...
Mattie - I couldn't tell you how many times I threw junk pitches out of the strike zone that got ripped for 450 foot homers!
And I'm truly out on what to think of Road to the Show, because, as previously stated, it is focused only on how your player does ... but I'm not sure I would know how to change it so oh well ....
Would anyone be interested in getting a PA online league together? I think that it would definately be something interesting to try out ... Thoughts?

MVP 2005 will forever be my favorite baseball game, along with Baseball Simulator 1000 or whatever for SNES.
That being said, I played so much The Show '07 last year that it was nuts. Once the baseball season ended I transitioned into NCAA and Madden mode but am looking forward to picking up my Road to the Show again.
I last left off with a starting pitcher, hoping to do both a closer and 3rd baseman this year.

P.S. Vasgersian rules.

It's supposed to be a big improvement over the 07. it explains some in the trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWmLyBGcrV8
Here's another site to explain all the features... it seems like a hell of a long list: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/12/11/mlb-08-may-be-the-most-features-packed-baseball-game-ever/

Can't wait for 08.
That's fine, MLB Power Pros and I are getting along just fine.

It's Sony's first-party MLB franchise.
