I'd post a link to this petition, but that would be immoral because you nasty mean people would go ruin a nice man's Presidential ambitions.

I think we're leaning that it's about 50/50 in terms of our support with a slight Hillary lean for demographic reasons.

As for Edwards himself, it seems doubtful he endorses Clinton, we're hoping for an Obama endorsement later this week.

Because those aren't Obama's strengths to behind with. They ARE however, Clintons.

McCain beats her on everything that makes her a "better" candidate then Obama. He's got more experience then her.

What do you think Hillary is going to run on in the general? The same thing she is now - experience.

And McCain beats her easily on that platform, plus he's far more likeable.

So, if voters have any hindsight at all, the only likely way to victory is take Obama's route.

Nader talks trash about the Democratic candidates:
    CNN wrote:
He expressed particular disappointment with Obama, whose senate record he called "mediocre, and quite cautious."

"It's not that he doesn't know what the score is, of course he does — look at his background, he knows plenty," Nader said. "But he's censoring himself."

If only a certain fringe candidate would "censor himself." Hey Ralph: Run for mayor or state senator or the House of fucking Representatives before you try president. You don't even know if you'd like the job.
Nader attracted close to 100,000 votes in Florida in 2000 — a state Al Gore ultimately lost to George Bush by approximately 500 votes. He brushes aside suggestions his candidacy this year may ultimately spoil the election for the Democratic Party.

"Political bigotry will be the label on anybody who uses the word 'spoiler,' he said. "Because ‘spoiler’ means minor candidates are second class citizens. Either we have an equal right to run for election, or we are spoilers for each other trying to get each other's votes.”

The problem with any poll showing a certain number of Edwards supporters' second choice being H or O, is that it is probably derived from a sample of about 100 people. If a survey samples 600 or so dem voters for a m.o.e. of about 4, then maybe 100 are Edwards supporters. The margin of error on n=100 has to be like...a lot.

In a review of hopeful news:

Gallup has Obama closing to within 6% of Clinton nationally in a poll conducted from the 27th to the 29th.

Rasmussen has Obama and Clinton tied in Connecticut.

A poll I heard on the radio on the way home said that as of Jan. 13&14 polls of Edwards voters nationally had them splitting something like 31% to 47% for Obama.

Not all Edwards supporters would be decided, as I read that. As in:

    Obama 47
    Clinton 31

Yeah, he's probably going to lose California for that reason. He just has to keep it close there...win the small states...win Illinois and Georgia big...win Connecticut and maybe Mass.......Cali isn't the must-win that the media wants it to be, though it is important.

Slightly OT but can anyone explain the Washington State democratic primary? I've seen the date announced as Feb 9th, but that didn't match what Thanatos was saying, and digging deeper it just gets weird. As far as I can tell :

Feb 9th - Precinct Caucus - sends delegates to a "legislative district caucus" and a county convention
Feb 19th - State Primary - just for show, no delegates sent
April 5th - Legistative District Caucus - sends delegates to Congressional District Caucuses
April 19thish - County Conventions - sends delegates to State Convention
May 15th - Coungresional District Caucuses - sends 51 delegates to National Convention
June 14th - State Convention - sends 46 delegates to National Convention

Seriously, a four month lag time between my participation in a caucus and actual delegate determination? And two paths and three layers of obfuscation? Am I missing something or is Washington just dumb?
