Last night, my PC blew on me. I was browsing these very forums when it decided to make a very undramatic 'phutt!' sound, shut off and then make the room smell of burning electronics. It was late and I was tired so I figured I'd go to bed and check it out this morning. I do check it out - and I can't see anything wrong. Because I left it so long it's hard to tell specifically what bit was burnt from smell alone. Out of curiosity I turn it on. It still works - perfectly, as far as I can tell.
So, any idea what happened? Is using it still a risk to my data etc? My initial thought was that the power supply blew - but the fact she still works seems to suggest this isn't the case. So, basically, I'm stumped.
The feed probably melted some of the plastic. You're probably fine until it needs to process a lot of information at once again. I urge you to get that stuff repaired asap, because that is a big fire risk right there.
