Chop logic: thanks, probably because those two were actually from life.
NakedZergling: Thanks, I like that one too.
Beavo: yeah, its one of my favorites
MKR: Yeah, thats probably due to the large amounts of eyelid in all of them, haha.
And now for some stuff since then, sorry for the crappy pics of the bigger stuff.
(life drawing of buildings + robot head)
(figure drawing class)
And a page of character thumbs.
And also some greyscale landscapes, I'll get better pics when they are done.
Here is a poster design I did this morning for my type and image class. We had to take a letter, and show it with five words starting with the letter, and also have the letter form itself. I obviously got 'K'
Here are the thumbs I started with, and then the poster I made. Still need to ink the guys, and lay down some flats on them or something.
Dee Lock: Thank for stopping in. Yeah, character thumbs are a lot of fun, and since I am doing an independent study about them, expect to see a lot more. About the ear, usually I would agree, but the dudes ears are strangely low. And yeah, Im no good at values.
Here are two vector things for a button maker my friend has that Im going to use the shit out of once I get a few more ideas. And then two little sketchbook pages. I have a butt-ton of figure drawings too. But Im too lazy to scan them (unless you bug me to).
edit: TITS! I have to fix that white crap on the skull.
edit2: fixed.
I said I had a bunch, but i did not say they were any good. The first batch were two minute sketches. Some of them, the model would pose for thirty seconds, and then we would draw the pose from memory.
For these the crappy ones were 5 mins, the others were ten, I think.
Here's something I just did. Im trying to use the technique in the skull above, but for more realistic subject matter. I think its worth doing a few more times to try and get it right.
The outline on the hood is killing it, and I need to knock the eyes back too, I think.
wip. Something I am trying to prepare for my honors studio portfolio.
They way I have the little guys cut off straight is bothering me, but Im not sure how Im going to fix it. Ideas? And obviously, the main character has not been rendered out yet.
The first two are what I submitted to the end of the year show here at my school The second two are what I submitted this year, the digital piece got in!
I'd like to think the lack of comments in your thread mean you're doing something right. The digital piece that got in is awesome. It's got a foggy feel, but is still sharp.
Here is a project for my sequential class. We had to take little red riding hood and put a twist on it, then illustrate five story beats. I turned it in, but I think its worth putting in some more time to clean up.

Isn't it funny in most forums it would mean you're doing something wrong but everybody is too polite to say it. Here, a lack of scathing criticism means your work probably isn't too bad.

Some more stuff from the sketchbook. And I realized I have not been drawing enough, so expect to see more frequent updates from me in the coming weeks.
Thanks mustang. Moleskins are pretty nice, but I think I am going to try and find something a bit different. While the pages are thick enough to paint on and stuff, they are so nice, I feel like I am wasting them by just drawing. Which in turn makes me draw a bit less.
I really like the ones you (presumably) did for class assignments, the studies of human figure and life drawing. Ever since taking a life drawing class, my fascination with those kinds of artwork has grown considerably.
Does the skeleton you drew have scoliosis or am I looking at it wrong?
I'd like to thank you mustang for your consistent feedback. I don't really know why my thread yields so few replies, but all feedback helps, and I get so little it seems.
Perhaps it's due to a lack of socializing in other threads.

Rest assured were you to be pompously over-confident in your abilities, the replies would come thick and fast and none to re-assuring either. I'd like to think your lack of replies more lies in your ability to see your own failings in your work and your humbleness in your successes, it kind of leaves us no-where to go.
So in short, start being more of a jerk

it's actually like 2nd row, 2nd column.

I'm a sucker for character/creature thumbnails.
I don't know why...i just love the energy and the compulsiveness of them.
These are great...one of my favorite pages in here.
As far as your figure drawings go...i think you need to do a quick sketch blocking off all the areas of different shade before you start rendering.
Here's a great tutorial that will help you with that.
I think the biggest problem with the newest portrait is that the ear is waaaaay too low.
Just pay attention to where everything is in relation to everything else...if that makes sense.
I love your ink still lifes and environments.

Bug.

Aaaaand uh, here is a thing Im working on.
The outline on the hood is killing it, and I need to knock the eyes back too, I think.
I'm a paint noob so i can't really give you much advice about it but the guys eyes seem a little big and too bright.
Pretty worthless crit...sorry...
Here is a comic for my sequential imaging class. Needs love. But I'll tighten it up and finish it tomorrow.
Another page of character thumbs, this is the jolly giant of the group.
Two pages of composition studies for a painting I need to start and finish by the fifth.
And then a drawing from figure drawing class when the model does not show. All you can do is draw people drawing people.
I like that last one, I like it very much.
Here is todays work.
Scribbles
thumbnail for a random word exercise. I got 'hard dad, hyper plane, chuckles lightly"
Small painting color study (bad water/sky separation)
and one from figure drawing class. (excuse the crude stitch)
They way I have the little guys cut off straight is bothering me, but Im not sure how Im going to fix it. Ideas? And obviously, the main character has not been rendered out yet.
(And I should have a big post in about a week.)

BTW I like that last one Subs.
Some stuff from the last few days.
Awesome...
Well...guess what i want you to work on
I can see what you're avoiding in all these.
Hands!
Drop and give me 100 *hand studies* right now!
Yeah, I could use some hand studies. Its tough to squeeze them in with the limited amount of time each pose is.
Here is something from my design class. A boring vote poster!
All from life.
Some more stuff from the sketchbook. And I realized I have not been drawing enough, so expect to see more frequent updates from me in the coming weeks.
I honestly can't see anything here I dislike, apart from the fact that your sketches are much better than mine.
Here is a WIP. Crits??
Does the skeleton you drew have scoliosis or am I looking at it wrong?
Negative on the scoliosis, its just a broken piece of shit.
Oh- and I have more sketches, but am too lazy to scan them right now.
