Extract audio from video?

Hi all, is there a program I can use to extract the audio from a video file and save it as an mp3 or wav? Thanks.

    I think VLC http://www.videolan.com will. It has a wizard that lets you transcode the audio or video from the current playing file. I've never used it much but it's the only thing that came to mind.

    The name for this is 'Demux'ing. If you search for a Demuxer you should find what you want. I've always used Virtua Dub Mod.
