Stupid Wacom problem

OK recently I've noticed that I can only use my Wacom pen while in Photoshop, whereas before I could use the pen outside of the program like it was a mouse. The pen would still function in "pen mode", where the location on the pen on the tablet cooresponds to the location of the cursor on the screen, but regardless I could still use it to do anything that a mouse would normally do

Now, if I'm using the pen in Photoshop and I switch to another program from the taskbar, the pen suddenly won't respond and I have to use either the Wacom mouse or my normal mouse to move the cursor

Any thoughts? My guess is that it's some stupid conflict between the Wacom software and Vista's own tablet support, but I really have no idea

I had no idea Vista had tablet support built in. I would definitely disable one or the other and check the results.
