Lets talk college

So I know many of you are High School seniors, late college applicants, or perhaps even individuals who have already attended one of these mystical edumacational facilities! So in this thread, lets talk about colleges. Where did you apply? Where did you get in? Do dorms really suck ass? Do you have any awesome stories about drunken collegiate shenanigans? Share them here.
i go to bcit
i don't know if you count that as a college or what
it is an institute of technology
i am taking mechanical drafting right now
and it fusking sucks
i am at a university and i have lectures and i don't go to many of them and i feel bad about it but i spend a lot of money on going out and having fun and if i don't get my act together soon i will probably fail
dorms suck ass if you hate people and/or like to drink a lot of booze or participate in other nefarious activities. I lived in them for only my first year then got a house.

Yeah, the dorms sound incredibly shitty. Especially given that I don't really drink very often and I'm going to a state university that is absolutely brimming with popped-collar-kegstand cockgobblers
This one time, I gave up an academic scholarship to Cornell, to follow a homely, dull, and mostly idiotic girl to the University of Washington. She was too dumb to get in there, so she talked me into Washington State University instead.

Also, I got into the school of mass communications but I am beginning to suspect this means I'll be slowly eased into advertising rather than Journalism, which I want.
I graduated from Villanova. It was good times all around, except for the engineering part. Though I do wonder how different my life would be if I went to another college.
Man, do the dorm thing, at leats get a taste of it for a year. Some of the best friends you'll have through college, you'll meet there. Not everyone in the dorm is gonna be a big drinker. And do you know how many marathon sessions of Madden or Brawl or whatever you can play with your floor mates? Keep your door open, don't be that antisocial smelly kid, smile, and you'll do fine.
This... this right here is why I don't relish going to college. I don't have the money to do the stuff I want to do (mostly restore cars and shoot guns).
I've been accepted to a few colleges already (one college is giving me a $17,000 scholarship) and I'm still waiting on hearing back from Boston University and Mcgill

Nah, I don't have any problems with socializing or being generally personable. I'm more opposed to the dorms because, from what I've heard, they're very beurocratic and they have an incredibly strict stance on things like pot. Also, having to walk past a checkpoint to make sure you're not obviously drunk just to go home? Lame.

I'll have you know my dorm is great for boozing.
I mean if you're underage and don't want to get in trouble. It never stopped me, but eventually I would have been caught more than the one time I was caught.

I was going to apply there, but it was towards the end of my application process and one look at the stupid-ass essay question they wanted me to answer and I decided against it

Was it about catholicism or something? I don't remember the exact essay question, but I'm pretty sure I just copied and pasted somethign from another college and find/replaced the word mom with the word god. Also, I wrote an essay about Batman that got me into their honors program, which promptly kicked me out after soph year.

Yeah
I started with a quote from St. Augustine and then I found I just didn't have the heart to spew any more b.s.

My school is really lax about drinking rules. Short of getting carried away in an ambulance, it's pretty tough to get in trouble for drinking regardless of your age.
Getting alcohol poisoning isn't all bad though. One girl in my dorm got hauled off in an ambulance after an incident involving jungle juice and some of my roomie's vodka and she was getting like 10 Facebook friend requests a day for awhile. It can be a good way to meet people.
I'm doing my MA in English at a small school in Nova Scotia, and while I don't dislike it enough to burn the building down, I wouldn't be too broken up if I went in Monday and found the arts building in a heap of smoking ruins.

Mine is killing me because of what I chose to study.

A good job, and disposable income is wonderful.
Best years of your life my ass.

Anyway, my dorm is rather quiet, considering. All the partying happens at the frat houses, I guess.
Wait, you're in Macon?
I'm off out to get drunk and recreate Bill Bailey's Chaucer Pubbe gag.
