Now with added Captian K approval!!!
First off, here's the link to our Myspace page where we'll be posting blogs and hopefuly will have a live broadcast going:
So what the hell is this? Ok, after seeing the 48hour Zelda marathon a few weeks ago my roomates and friends and of course me, have conspired to do the same thing only with Mario games. We'll be playing 9 Mario games (listed below) over the course of a 48 hour period. Here's the main information.
GAME LINEUP (in chronological order):
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario World
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Super Mario Sunshine
Super Paper Mario
Super Mario Galaxy
Here's a quote from the blog:
So here it is. The chart is pretty self explanatory. We plan on playing 9 (yes 9) games over the course of 48 hours. The speed runs are the best times on record for beating the game. Most of these speed runs use wall exploits and such which we are going to avoid; also we're no where near experts on the game thus our realistic estimated time versus the speed run time.
Clarifications:
-"Beating the game" is defined as beating Bowser and saving the princess. NOT 100% completion, in fact we will of course be doing the minimum to complete the game.
- Mario Kart 64- We will be completing all 4 cups (including mirror), which of course means we'll need to get gold on all of them in order to get mirror.
- Cheating and Exploits- We will be using a minimum of exploits and NO cheats. (Exploits such as track jumping in Mario Kart 64)
CHARITY DONATIONS: The whole reason we're doing this
I realized that I should just cut out the middle man (being me) and have people directly donate to Child's Play VIA PayPal. Make your donations and send us a screen shot, we'll post your name (or handle) and your donation amount (if you want) in our donators section for all to see. Remember, this charity pretty much is the quintessential gamer's charity. To learn more about it, check out their website:
Child's Play
Email your shots to:
The1207Crew@hotmail.com
Webcam:
We will be doing a live broadcast of our Super Mariothon on the webcam on the website.
E-Mail Us!!:
We'd love to hear words of encouragement and fan art. We'll post your art on the site as well. Just keep it safe for work and Mario related.
The timing chart can be seen on the blog.
Feel free to comment with suggestions (especially for Super Paper Mario), pictures, questions, etc. Also PLEASE be sure to let others know, as this is the only forum I will be posting on.
I'll keep live updates on here as well as the website(in EST). Thanks again, and remember this is for charity.

Posts
I think I read something about Gabe and Tycho just deciding to keep the childs play thing open all year from now on, they had a tonne of post-xmas donations.
It's never too late to donate (no rhyme intended)
Our camera is down. Our school has a bandwith limit and aparently webcams upload at about 256mb/hour.
So our camera is down, which is a big part of the experience. Regardless, we will press on and I'll keep updating the thread and the myspace.
We're starting with Mario Kart 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.
EDIT: We're gunna keep broadcasting
