I can't understand some of the Obama hate people have. It's just not rational. I heard one guy say he will move away to Australia if Obama wins the presidency, but would be fine with Clinton or McCain. What's there to hate?

Did you attend a Democratic caucus today, Fyre? If so, how did yours end?

nope, registered Republican. I did help direct traffic at one for a bit, then I went home when the guy got back.

The anti-Hillary sentiment in Nebraska is strong. I would be suprised if Hillary won Nebraska.

edit: I like Obamaha, Nebraska. That's going to be my new location.

I have been Independent, but I registered at the door to the caucus today for it. Probably going to re-register Independent down the road once I get around to it.

Man, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that Hillary would be a kick-ass Senate Majority Leader. It plays perfectly into her political skills and outlook. I wish there were some way to make that happen.

The desire to kick ass, take names and be an incredible policy wonk? I think everyone who is pro-Obama and not waterlogged sees this. Rebel against Harry Reid!

Of course, odds are the Reid family won her Nevada so I'm not sure how she'd feel about replacing him.

Remember when we almost ended up with a GeorgeBush/JohnEdwards presidency last year because the votes could have ended up so tied that it could have had to go to the house and senate where the pubs would vote for Bush and the Dems would vote for Edwards as VP

While I'm a whole-hearted supporter of Obama, just being a good orator doesn't mean you'll make a competent or even moral leader. Hell, Hitler knew how to work a crowd.

(Please note: I'm in no way directly comparring Barack to Adolf.)

As I noted in the original post it was not a direct comparision, only that they both possess/ed good oratory skills.

I in no way believe that Obama and Hitler have anything else in common outside of that.

Go watch a previous debate and compare him to Huckabee's delivery, which is also not a speech. Now that guy's a great speaker.

Obama strikes me as being very contemplative when he speaks, like he's thinking about how he wants to express his ideas a lot. Thats why he pauses

Question, does Obama write his own speeches?
he assists in speechwriting, but he has a savant on his side writing the bulk of the material.

Of course, the best written speech means nothing if you can't deliver it, and Obama does have the gift of the golden tongue.

He definitely used to. The '04 Convention speech was all him. Now he has a 26 year old who's figured out his voice who writes them, but the Senator has a lot of input.

    WISCONSIN GROUND GAME REPORT

    I hate people.

...oh, you chucklefucks want more? Fine. My primary target of the night was a Bible-banger who's been forced to fall in behind McCain after originally favoring a Huckabee/Romney ticket. We will call him "L", his first initial.

L cannot vote for either of Obama or Clinton in the primary, despite the fact that all he'd be doing is picking his opponent. He believes Obama to be the Antichrist. He believes Hillary to be even worse. (Seriously. I'm not making this up.) So he'd take Obama over Hillary, then. Great, I say, all I'm asking you to do is eliminate Hillary- the one you like less- by taking Obama in the primary; you can always vote McCain in the general. Nope, L says, he can't do it; Obama is the Antichrist. I have to ask: why? Why is Obama the Antichrist? L's reasoning- his actual, swear-to-everything-holy reasoning- is as follows:

*Obama is very popular amongst a wide variety of people.
    *SO WAS THE ANTICHRIST.

This has been a Wisconsin Ground Game Report.

for fucks sake, I've been hearing the same thing from morons around here, with the exact same reasoning. Is there an email chain floating around that we're unaware of?

Actually it occurred to me too that people might make this connection since he seems so charming and hopeful and talking about change and peace and how people are believing this will turn politics into something new and different.

So I dunno, it's something I can see a fairly large group of bible freaks coming up with and believing without email campaigns.

There’s always some way of spreading the meme; geographically separated people don’t suddenly all come up with the same idea at once.

And having grown up in a more moderate form of that culture, I’m not really surprised.

So, after agreeing to a debate on MSNBC on the 27th with Clinton, Clinton may back out because of the whole "pimping" comment.

So, according to Clinton, Obama not debating on Fox because they claimed that he was an Islamic terrorist - not okay. Her not debating on MSNBC, which suspended the person who used the modern (read: not misogynistic) definition of the word "pimping" to describe what she's actually doing with her daughter - okay.
