So it's time for me to get a car, but I pretty much know nothing about them. So obviously looks aren't that important to me, I just want something reliable that gets me from point A to point B. Also just to mention, my parents are buying the car, not me.
My friend reccomended a toyota camry, which he claimed has a history of being a very reliable model. I went to www.capitaloneautobuying.com and checked out the camry's nearby, and they all seem to be within a good price range. I also noticed that there are a lot of toyota corrola's being sold, and those look nice too.
I'd like to know more peoples opinion on the matter, and just things in general that I really should know or look out for. Since I'm really ignorant on the subject of cars and whatnot... Thanks
I (and my mechanic) put my vote in for a Ford Focus. Great car, small and sporty, good on gas, and best of all...cheap.
I'm kinda in your boat, my sh!tbox on wheels has crapped out on me 3 times in three months and each repair has cost me more than twice the cost of a monthly payment for a NEW '08 Focus. But that's besides the point.
I have seen an '08 Focus for as low as $14,060 US today, but my credit rating, aside from student loans and a single credit card (that I have not used), is non-exsistant.
Here's a used one I saw. An '04 Focus ~50,000 miles for $6,970. Even at 12% intrest for 5 years it's less than $140 a month. With money down it'd be even cheaper.
Also I'm a 300lbs guy and I fit behind the wheel just fine so you know it's roomy enough inside.
No i don't work for Ford, but I do like this car.
Edit: Sorry I was shopping for cars all day reading about cars all day and obsessing about cars all day.
