Ok, so I'm going to make a quick 'puzzle' of sorts and I need an alternate way to say (It will be written) the date and time for an event. A basic example is the difference between using 24 hour time and normal 12 hour time but something a bit more obscure but still possible to figure out.
Actually, I don't particularly care if they don't figure it out but I still want it to be remotely possible.
Give the distance the light that will strike the event is currently away from the event. People will have to know the speed of light, thenconvert from seconds to days/hours/minutes and finally use a calendar to figure out what day that actually corresponds to.
Ah, awesome suggestions guys! Seriously, especially the crazy ones like Dark Moon's. I have a few ideas now based upon the different types you've put forward. I just need to figure out which one would be the best for this.

After that it's a bit of research and a touch of math to figure it out. Don't know if it's exactly what you're looking for though.
