Music/Video Streaming help!

I've recently found Winamp Remote, and honestly I love it. It seemlessly links up with my Xbox 360 to share movies/video, I can also go to winamp.com/remote to stream all of my music and videos.

I have heard terrible things from co-workers though, that putting copyrighted material up there is a no-no and Winamp is real quick to report these things. I am putting up CDs that I own, and DVDs that I have ripped to .avi. Winamp Remote is not public, and requires a username and password that I created in order to log in and view the files and listen to them.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Should I be worried about putting my DVDs up there? I do it so I can watch them on my Xbox 360, and also so I can stream and watch them while I am at work. It seems like this would be the entire point of the service, as I doubt the requirements of people to stream only music and video they create everywhere.

Failing that, if Winamp Remote is shady, does anyone recommend any other program I could use that would have similar features?
