Guitar Hero worries (xbox 360) plz help

Long story short, my dumbass roomate "borrowed" my guitar for guitar hero II, and when he returned it...it was missing the "dongle".

Lord knows what else to call it, but it's the piece that connects the end of the cord to the actual XBOX.

Where can I find one? A guy at the local gamestop told me to try redoctane's online store, but I did not see it there.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It's just the USB part, right? Any bit off the end of a Wired controller should work.

It's called a USB breakaway cable.

I just had to buy one because I sold one with one of my copies of Rock-Band on accident.

Buy a cheap 3rd party controller that has the breakaway cable?

lop the end off the break away part, and the end off a generic USB-A cable and solder the similar coloured cables together?

The Breakaway cable for the guitar is not proprietary, so you should be able to use one from a wired controller. Local game store, Gamestop EB whatever, might stock breakaway replacements, but if not try these links.

Do the old Xbox controllers work with the new ones (the old dongles I mean, not the controller work with the 360)? Might get a cheap one that way if it does.
