I haven't read everything yet, but I really, really enjoyed X-Factor.
The whole "There is no hope anymore. Layla is gone. There is no faith anymore. Rahne is gone. ... Faith is what you cling to when reason says there's no point. Hope is what you cling to in the absence of reason. In the absence of everything...what's left to cling to?" Bit really got me. Kinda emo, but I love it when books actually deal with team members dying/leaving (or...don't deal, as the case may be).
Toss up between Booster Gold #0, Walking Dead #46, and the Astro City special. I'm still kind of shocked that Kirkman did what he did.
Could you maybe spoiler what happened so those of us that don't get those books could see what made it so cool/jawdropping/stupid etc?
In The Walking Dead...
Tyreese is brutally beheaded by the governor while Rick and his friend watch helplessly. By brutally, I mean brutally- more than one twhack, very drawn out over a two-page spread. It's the most heart wrenching death I've ever read. He doesn't even get a last word.
It really makes you hate The Governor.

Proooooobably the new Fantastic Four.
Fucking awesome stuff, i'll probably end up buying the eventual Hardcover.

I liked it too, but, like you said, it got a little bit too emo for my likings. The book feels like it's had its heart wripped out with Layla gone and not even the "18 year old" knock off hooker version could fill the void. Also, Thou Shalt Not Covet Thy Neighbours iPhone. It's like the 4th Commandment or something.

Haha, the Monet stuff were completely my favorite parts of the issue. Going from "Well, I bought you this massively expensive tech. But you're leaving so now I'm gonna crush it! But it's not that I like you and am smad that you're leaving." to "You should have an abortion, you're too young to be a mother." "I'm the same age as my mother when she had me--" "Well, she should have had an abortion, too."
NA #38 was amazing this week. I know some people just want to get on with "OMG SKRULLS!" but it was just so great with the Alias reunion and dealing with the fault all of Jessica's decision in the Annual. That being said I loved Ares and Carol in their little exchange:
"That is not a man. He should slap her and tell her how it is"
"How about I slap you Ares?"
"Okay"
Really enjoyed this. Nothign specifically stands out as a 'moment', but loved the Herbie-Doombots, the whole segment with Reed and Thing at the school, and the 'Death Star' at the end was unexpected (although in hindsight of next issue cover, should have seen coming).
Captain Marvel
Skrulls? In my Marvel? If you're interested in Secret Invasion, this looks like hte place to be. Marvel cult is Skrulls. Kree invaders are Skrulls. Marvel is maybe a Skrull. Skrulls are everywhere!
Ultimates 3 - no I didn't buy it and I dont even know if it's out as I dont care, but I saw this in the previews for the next issue surrounded by so many other panels full of fail.
I think it's only funny because I hate the new, more EXTREME Hawkeye and feel no remorse for him.
X-Force #1
BASTION! Yes, I like the 90's. Screw you and your hate! BASTION WHOO!
if you buy ultimates 3 you are what is wrong with comics
Man, go to hell.
Vann Diras, agree with you about Cemetary Blues. It's a fun little book.
This was actually a pretty good week, at least of what I've read so far. Wolverine and X-Force were quite good. I enjoyed the hell out of GLC. Even MCP delivered today. But my moment of the week was in Nova:
The two page splash in the fake future of Nova, where the Phalanx infected heroes of Earth are flying out to meet the Nova Corps.
It had the same "holy shit" feel as the What If? Annihilation issue. In fact, I demand a What If? story that makes that splash page happen.
Russled up some scans of Walking Dead. I thought the first half of hte issue was fairly slow paced considering how the last one ended, but god damn did it kick into overdrive around:
Kind of graphic, some might want warning beforehand, so I guess stay back if you dislike gore.
But I guess the ending was to be expected:
One thing I notice about most Walkind Dead cliffhanger / shock endings is that almost always deliver and I fully expect next issue to bring the goods.
Ultimates 3 feels like Jeph Loeb is trying to pull an All-Star Batman & Robin but is failing miserably at it
*sob* It's not fair. It was Ultimates, plus Joe Mad's art, plus Jeph Loeb. It was supposed to be so good. It's just not fair.
Honestly, I'm buying it cuz I'm a sucker for the art, which is great. I'm even mildly interested in the story, though it's been such a vast change that it doesn't even feel like the same Ultimates universe we had at the end of Ultimates 2. But I just can't get past the lousy dialogue. At least get us some better witty banter.
Ah well. It's supposed to contain Wolverine vs. a T-Rex at some point. It can't be all bad.
Wolverine was pretty good, and that's not even my growing man-love for Jason Aaron talking. I completely bit on the fake-out at the beginning of the issue, and it was pretty cool seeing the little details later on that indicated that it was a fake-out. I'm really glad Aaron's gonna be doing stuff for Marvel for at least a couple years.

My God it is like the greatest thing. I don't think it came out this week, per se, but if you can find it anywhere, do it.
I typed the initial post on my phone at the comic book store parking lot. I should have taken the time to elaborate, though. Sorry fellas.
Anyhow:
Astro City, because it was typical Busiek/Anderson goodness, and it read like an old school Vision/Avengers story.
Walking Dead has already been mentioned.
Booster Gold because it's always a good book.
Man, go to hell.

He is 100% right. you buy shit like Ultimates3 you deserve awful comics.
It is the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen put to print.
you fucking deadbeats
I just don't have the time to be organizing such a thing
set a date and i'll be there
