Helping an old Mac Powerbook discover wireless internet
My girlfriend recieved a free Powerbook G4 yesterday to her delight. It's an older one, I think it's of the very first powerbooks that came out. Anyway, it's up to 10.2.8 and we are trying to give this little guy wireless so she can use it in her house. So we went out tonight and she picked up a Belkin USB wireless thing that said it was compaitble with macs 10.3 and up. I assumed that 10.3 could be reached on hers by doing software updates. Well, after doing all the updates avalible for it, still at 10.2.8. So I come to you people of great worth asking if any of you know of a way to get the mac up to 10.3 sans buying a new version of OS X. I am sure she would be open to the idea of buying a different wireless thing if it works with 10.2.8

I love you all, happy post vag day.
What model Powerbook is it? Can you get us a processor speed? The best thing would be to get an actual Airport Extreme Card.
If it's 10.2.8 though...hmm. It's probably pre-extreme.
Well, off the top of my head I don't know of any Wi-Fi adapters to point you in the direction of.
The majority of them will likely require 10.3, which, yes you would have to purchase. Though I can almost guarantee there's a handful of adapters which can use 10.2.8.
Upgrading to 10.3 or even 10.4 wouldn't be a bad idea anyway because you'll more than likely get better performance, not to mention that software that's compatible with 10.2.8 is becoming rarer as time goes on.

Is there a DVI port on the back?
