I am trying to get a UPS from APC that I feel will fit my Mac Pro system. I want this model. Now I am trying to get research on how these things work and get something that won't suck. I came across some old 1994 pots about this and people said how pure sine wave are better. I cannot understand what that is, only someone posted this model is sine wave but its for corporate/server us, and its expensive link

Can someone please explain what UPS differences are from non sine wave to pure sine wave. I just want something that will protect my computer from power outages I been having at my house.

2007 Model Mac Pro with 4 internal HD, 19in LCD, and external HD is all I have at the moment thats like 260watts from my math.

Thank you kind HA

It has to do with the waveform of the AC power that the UPC generates. You pretty much have to be an electrical engineer for it to really make sense.

The short answer is, no, you don't need a pure sine wave UPC. The longer answer is here.
