using rock band controler with GH3

Just got Guitar Hero 3 today, my wife loved rock band so much she wanted to branch out.
We want to use our rock band guitar to play at the same time but it says the guitar is not
compatible. Is there a way to make this controller work with GH3? My wife is finally showing intrest in a video game, help me keep her interest going.

    You can't. If you want to play two players on gh3, you need two guitar hero guitars. On the other hand, if you have the 360 or wii, you can use the gh guitar on Rock band.

    Yea, it sucks and it's slightly confusing.
