Assuming several of the original cast members are back, this would probably make it have the highest average party age in any FF game ever.
I mean, that makes Palom and Porom 22, and that's order than the vast majority of FF protagonists right there.

Seriously though, when I first heard about this I Facepalmed about as hard as anyone else. FF4 holds a special place with me, and the remake alone made me somewhat question squeenix, then this made me pretty much head on doubt them. But because the game looks like it could have been A DIRECT sequel right before FF5, it gains insane points off that. Add in the fact all my favorite characters return and look 10 times more badass, and I just cant hate it.
The only thing I can hate is there is no way I could ever play this even thinking outside the box.
More Square "let's cash in on our good games" bullshit. And whoever said they want a sequel to 6, bad person. This is a very different company from before.
$10 they'll slip in FF12 / FFT:A crapass races into this.
So long as its on the cell phone, I can and will hate it. This hate extends to Square-Enix as a whole until they port all of their cell phone games to the DS or PSP or if they announce Chrono Break for one of the three consoles. Until then, my boycott of S-E and their milked game franchises shall continue.
Until the largely backwards US cell phone infratructure gets with the times, it's highly doubtful we'll ever see any of these cell phone games (even the good ones) outside of maybe ports to next-gen handhelds three or five years after the fact.

While I agree I doubt it will happen, I find it retarded that Square would think so. Regardless of how "big" the cell phone market in Japan is (And I find it a little hard to believe that this would sell better on cell phones then on a proper handheld, especially the DS), they could make oodles of money overseas by porting the damn thing.

Do you know the crazy number of titles from Square back in the SNES, and even Playstation days that never made it outside of Japan? If anything, we get more of their titles today than we ever did back then.

Classic turn based RPGs and adventure games are basically the only genres that work well on cellphones because you only need to press one button at any given time, so the controls aren't a huge issue. It's only natural for stuff like this and Phoenix Wright to end up on them.
